I had really, really hoped to paint over the weekend, but my only options were a) open the windows for ventilation and pass out from the heat or b) keep the windows closed and pass out from paint fumes. As feeling faint is not high on my list of favorite activities, we opted for a few smaller-scale projects around the house instead. We did some weeding and mowed the lawn, put up the
wall decal in our bedroom, and Dan continued to develop his handyman skills by working on repairing a light in our bathroom.
The light fixture above our bathroom mirror has four bulbs, but for almost the entire time that we've lived here, there have only been three bulbs in the socket. That's because the fourth socket would continually flicker and/or make crackling noises every time we put a bulb in it. Dan did a little investigating, figured out what the problem was, and decided to put that crackly socket to rest once and for all.
Obviously, step one was to cut off the power to the bathroom, so he did most of the work with a flashlight. Here's a shot from the bathroom as he was first taking things apart.

Tinkering away. . .
Nessa is such a good helper.
We have a four-bulb bathroom once again!
I continue to be impressed with Dan's ever-growing set of handyman skills. Just give him a couple YouTube videos, a trip to Home Depot, and maybe a quick consultation call with Dad, Cliff, or Frank and he can usually figure it out and come to the rescue!
